Gracelife Serving

We are thankful for every one of you and your willingness to sacrificially serve this body with the gifts the Lord has given you.

Below is a list of the areas of service needed on Sunday mornings. We are asking everyone interested in serving to let us know where you can assist. If you are currently serving in one ministry and would like to serve in another, please let us know that as well.

Setup and Teardown Team

Summary: Setup and teardown volunteers serve by preparing and restoring the nursery, preschool, and Gracelife Kids areas each Sunday. This team also sets up the children’s check-in area, hospitality table, and welcome signs throughout the foyer and outside the school—including under the awning and near the road. This team ensures that every space is ready to receive families, allowing parents to smoothly transition and drop off their little ones before the service begins.

Expectations: Setup and teardown volunteers need to be onsite by 9:15 AM to ensure all areas are fully prepared no later than 9:45 AM. Volunteers will also be responsible for teardown after the service is complete. Training will be provided to show you which areas need to be set up and torn down correctly. Membership is not required for this role. As a formality for tracking purposes, if this is an area you already serve in or would like to serve in, please sign up.

Security

Summary: Security team members serve alongside greeters to ensure all who enter feel welcomed while also protecting our congregation, especially our children. Security must be discerning but not suspicious of others—maintaining a warm and watchful presence.

Expectations: Security volunteers need to be onsite by 9:30 AM, and will serve until 12:15 PM, making sure that everything and everyone is out of the building at that time. Security stands at the door and makes sure all feel welcomed. Security is responsible for guarding the children’s center in the library and ensuring that only parents enter for the purpose of picking up their children. The children’s center is for volunteers, children, and their parents—not a place to gather and talk. Membership is required for this role.

Nursery and Preschool

Summary: Our nursery and preschool volunteers exist to serve parents and children. We serve parents by providing excellent childcare during ministry events so that parents can devote their entire attention to worship. We serve children by providing a safe and enjoyable environment where Christ and His Word are exalted. More than anything, we strive to glorify God in each interaction with either a parent or child.

Expectations: Nursery and preschool volunteers need to be onsite and in the room they are scheduled to serve in, and ready to receive children by 9:45am on Sunday. Each nursery & preschool volunteer must undergo a background check, and complete the required training, read the nursery handbook and sign the handbook agreement prior to serving. Some positions require church membership.

Gracelife Kids

Summary: Gracelife Kids teachers serve children 5-years-old to 5th grade teaching children’s church during the worship service. This includes teaching from the Generations of Grace material, leading the children in a craft and activities that illustrate the lesson. Teachers for Gracelife Kids also serve at the Welcome Table on the Sunday’s they teach.

Expectations: Gracelife Kids teachers need to be onsite Sunday mornings by 9:15am to set up the room and prepare for the class. Prior to serving on Sunday, teachers should have the lesson prepared, along with a sample craft for that week’s lesson. Children’s church will start after worship singing and children will remain in the classroom until parents pick them up after service. Those serving in Gracelife Kids also serve at the Welcome Table the same Sunday morning they are scheduled to teach. This includes setting up the table and welcoming and greeting visitors, answering questions about Gracelife and giving visitors a “guest card” to complete. You would be at the welcome table from 9:30am until 10:20am, and then welcome the children into Gracelife Kids. A Background check and membership is required for this role.
