Sermon Overview

Confrontation is never an easy thing for believers to engage in. Yet it is a vital component of the church’s health. In fact, the failure to confront sin always leads to tragedy. As Christians, we must not fail to identify those that are not following biblical precepts and we must have the wisdom to confront them with sound, gracious, peaceful counsel. In today’s passage, Paul provides six steps for confronting a believer in order to correct sin and bring peace and grace through Christ.

  1. Identify the Person (3:14a)
  2. Avoid the Person (3:14b)
  3. Approach the Person (3:15)
  4. Pray for Peace (3:16)
  5. Confide in Scripture (3:17)
  6. Receive Christ’s Grace (3:18)
