How do we live in a world that is growingly hostile to the truth and those who believe in it? What do we do when the world pressures us to act and think in certain ways that oppose God’s Word? God has given us an example in the person of Daniel. In this chapter, we see four stages in Daniel’s display of faithfulness.

- Daniel’s Determined Decision (1:8a)

- God’s Gracious Compassion (1:9)
- God’s Exaltation of Daniel and His Friends (1:17-21)
- He gave them knowledge and intelligence (1:17)
- He gave them favor in the king’s sight (1:18-20)
- He gave Daniel success in Babylon (1:21)
