Jesus’ First Disciples, Part 1

Sermon Overview

As Jesus calls His first disciples, we are challenged to consider what it looks like to follow Christ in our own lives. The passage today reveals three components of a genuine disciple of Jesus Christ.

1. A genuine disciple recognizes and believes on Christ (1:35-36)
2. A genuine disciple seeks and follows Christ (1:37-39)
3. A genuine disciple is transformed and proclaims Christ (1:40-42)
