Sermon Overview
As false teachers were causing much harm in the church at Ephesus, Timothy is instructed to confront them. Along with this charge, Paul provides clear guidelines that are designed to protect the church from error. Central to this objective is God’s design for the eldership. There is a clear connection between confronting those who have been unfaithful to God’s Word and honoring those have been faithful. A church that upholds both of these requirements is a church that will fulfill its role as the pillar and support of the truth.
