Sermon Overview
As the Thessalonians were suffering at the present time, Paul did not want them to think the events of the tribulation had already arrived. The events of the tribulation will be so distinct that they will be unmistakable in world history. In this section, Paul aims to inform the Thessalonians about three truths they must know about what is coming later.
- Know the Present Restrainer must be Removed (2:7b)
- Know the Future Rebel must be Revealed (2:8a)
- Know the Future Redeemer must Restore (2:8b)
