Sermon Overview
Nothing motives endurance in the present like anticipation of the future. Having recently returned from exile, the Jews were discouraged about their diminished state. Zechariah’s visions are meant to encourage them to persevere with the rebuilding efforts by giving them a glimpse of Israel’s future glory. This vision provides three encouragements about the future that are meant to strengthen God’s people in the present.
- God’s Glory Will Be Restored (vs. 1-5)
- God’s People Will Be Delivered (vs. 6-9)
- God’s Nearness Will Be Celebrated (vs. 10-13)
